Bridle Up Hope: The Rachel Covey Foundation | Co-Founder | Alpine | 28
Bridle Up Hope does exactly what it claims to, combining horses with the “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” to nurture confidence, hope and healing in girls and women. Victoria Covey Simkins’ family founded the organization in honor of Victoria’s sister Rachel, who battled with depression but found comfort in equestrian training. Now, over 3,000 girls and women across 12 locations (including the most recent in Ukraine) have completed the Bridle Up Hope program. Victoria serves as the marketing director, managing newsletters, social media channels and marketing campaigns. She also is the marketing director of expansion, putting new Bridle Up Hope locations on the map around the world. Victoria has a big heart for people and horses (pictured is Kokomo!). Her motivation? “When you save a girl, you save generations.”
PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS I’m an accomplished equestrian and have won several rodeo queen competitions and 50-mile endurance races on the back of my Arabian horse Keylargo. I’ve been with Bridle Up Hope since day one and have helped impact the lives of over 3,000 girls and women who have gone through the program. PERSONAL GROWTH My career has taught me that I’m much more fulfilled when I’m doing something I love versus something I should do. I’m increasingly motivated by helping people and seeing a positive impact on their lives for good. Relationships are more important than title, money, power and status. COMBATING DOUBT I pray in the bathroom. God’s hand is in everything. CAREER DREAM To be a mother while helping Bridle Up Hope expand across the world. We hope to reach our goal of 1,000+ locations. PRINCIPLES OF SUCCESS “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” and the principles underlying them, including initiative, vision, prioritization, fairness, understanding, diversity and renewal. GOOD BIZ ADVICE Create a vision board in your office so you can always see what you’re working towards. LIVING LEGACY My vision is to help the Bridle Up Hope logo of the pink horseshoe become a symbol of hope to girls and women across the world just as the pink ribbon has become a symbol of hope for those battling breast cancer. Bridle Up Hope’s purpose is to help combat the global epidemic of anxiety and depression in young women caused by the “perfect storm” of comparisons, social media and perfectionism.
