Molly Anderson

Founder + CEO | Blue Cattle Truck Trading Co., Provo

Molly Anderson is baking everything up perfectly. It has been a lifelong dream for Molly to bring Mexican vanilla to as many people as possible. After becoming the first female production manager for the U.S. Steel Geneva plant for 20 years, and spending the next 20 at the Utah County Public Defender Association, Molly has lived and learned it all — helping Blue Cattle Truck Trading Co. be fully realized.

SHOULDERING THE LOAD
“Life is busy, but that keeps me young. I have a wonderful and supportive husband of 54 years, 11 kids (4 of which married into our family) and 22 grandchildren with one great-grandson on the way. I am actively in love with all of these people and support them in any way I can! I am active in my church and do my very best to stir things up and keep things fun and inviting.

“At work, I manage the front-end business: Supply chain items, freight, finances, employees, contracts and quality. I keep us focused on the importance of what we do and the place our wonderful Mexican vanilla has in the hearts and homes of our customers across the United States and Canada. As a company, we believe in giving back to our community and share our blessings with several worthy non-profit organizations.”

A STEP AT A TIME
“My previous work experience was the perfect teacher for me in running my business. From how to work with freight companies, to supply chain problem solving, to government regulations, I had already been through all of that. Each obstacle strengthened my ‘can-do’ attitude. I learned about how important people are in our daily lives. Over the years, these lessons fed into and clarified my desire to start my own company and associate the company with my family.”

BRAINSTORM
“After discovering Mexican vanilla while my husband, Gary, was in law school, it became my secret ingredient and go-to gift for my loved ones. Over the three years we lived in L.A., we would bring cases of vanilla from Tijuana back home with us to our families. When my husband graduated law school, we moved our family back to Utah. After my career in production management for U.S. Steel Geneva, my heart never forgot my dream of sharing Mexican vanilla with as many people as possible.

“In 1996, I asked my friend Sherry Dixon if she wanted to start a little business with me and import Mexican vanilla. Of course we knew it wasn’t going to be easy but we did not expect the first roadblock in our path. At 47 years old I was pregnant! This delayed our launch, but in April 1999 the Blue Cattle Truck Trading Co. LLC filed paperwork with the state and got serious about the dream that was hatched 25 years earlier. ”

GIVE HER A HAND
“My favorite product will always be the traditional Mexican vanilla. It is made the same way, by the same generational Mexican family that started the company in Mexico in 1917. We ‘single source’ with this wonderful family and it is always exceptionally excellent.

“With a beautiful square glass bottle from Italy that is corked with a ball top, I decided from the beginning that we would stay in our own lane — everything we would create or do would revolve around our exceptional Blue Cattle Truck Mexican Vanilla. This has kept us focused and original in our concepts and products, and we have yet to have a product that is not successful!”
